Who is eligible to apply for the Crossword Hobbyist Crossword Scholarship?

Crossword Hobbyist is offering a scholarship to a current or incoming undergraduate student who will be enrolled for the Fall 2020 semester.

How do you apply for this scholarship?

This scholarship is rather unconventional to apply for, which is half the fun!  While the selection committee wants to know about you in a 250 word response, the main focus is on crossword puzzles. With this in mind, they require applicants to create a 15×15 newspaper-style crossword puzzle on the Crossword Hobbyist website. The website states that you should focus on “a topic that you are passionate about. It can be anything you want! Animals, music, skateboarding, cupcakes, retro video games – the sky really is the limit.” So, what is your passion? Think about that and start creating you very own crossword puzzle for a chance at this scholarship. The crossword will be published on the website, so remember to email the good folks at scholarship@crosswordhobbyist.com so they can waive the one time publishing fee for you.

How much is this scholarship worth? 

The winner will receive a $1,000 scholarship and a free lifetime subscription to Crossword Hobbyist and My Word Search.

Up to five finalists will also be awarded a free lifetime subscription to Crossword Hobbyist and My Word Search.

When is the deadline to apply for this scholarship?

The deadline to apply is April 30th, 2020. Winners will be announced on May 31, 2020. The winner’s institute of higher education will receive a check for tuition or other related expenses.
