The Jeannette Rankin Women’s Scholarship is currently being offered by the Jeannette Rankin Foundation to women ages 35 or older. Since 1976, the Jeannette Rankin Women’s Scholarship Fund has awarded more than three million in scholarships to more than 1,000 women. This scholarship has a direct effect on the lives of previous recipients; over 87% of JRF Scholars either graduate or continue on towards completing their degrees. The Jeannette Rankin Women’s Scholarship has made all the difference in the lives of motivated low-income women, with 55% of JRF Scholars saying that the JRF Scholarship made continuing their educations possible. Over 75% of the JFK Scholars are single mothers working towards degrees that will also benefit their children.

Who is eligible to apply for the Jeannette Rankin Women’s Scholarship? 

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must fit the following criteria:

• A woman, age 35 or older.
• A U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the United States.
• Enrolled in, or accepted to, a regionally or ACICS accredited school (applicant is responsible for confirming that the college/university is accredited).
• Pursuing a technical or vocational education, an associate’s degree, or a first bachelor’s degree.
• Low-income

The Jeannette Rankin Foundation will look at your goals, plans for reaching these goals, challenges you may have faced, and your financial situation in deciding scholarship recipients.

How much is the scholarship worth?

Scholarship recipients will receive $2,000 the first year, and as long as they continue to meet the eligibility guidelines and  make progress toward their goals, are eligible for up to five awards for a maximum of $10,000.
